Wow, what a night of Champions League action! Kylian Mbappe was simply unstoppable on Wednesday. He scored an amazing three goals. His hat-trick sent Manchester City crashing out of the tournament. Real Madrid beat them 3-1. The final score over both games? A huge 6-3 for Real Madrid. Erling Haaland, City’s star striker, could only watch from the bench due to a knee injury.
Dortmund Holds Strong
In other news, Borussia Dortmund also had a good Wednesday. They played Sporting Lisbon at home. The game ended in a 0-0 draw. But, since Dortmund won the first leg 3-0, they moved on!

PSG and PSV Dominate
Paris Saint-Germain had a fantastic game against Brest. They are also a French team. PSG completely crushed Brest 7-0! This meant PSG won 10-0 overall. They are heading to the next round. They might face Liverpool or Barcelona. Elsewhere, PSV Eindhoven played Juventus. This was the only playoff game happening this week. It was a tight match! Ryan Flamingo scored late for PSV in the 98th minute. PSV won 3-1 on the night. And 4-3 in total! Juventus is out.
Mbappe’s Masterclass
Let’s talk more about Mbappe’s incredible performance. He truly showed his brilliance. First, he chipped the ball beautifully over City’s goalie, Ederson. It was only the 4th minute! Then, he cleverly beat Joško Gvardiol. He then slotted a low shot into the net in the 33rd minute. Finally, in the 61st minute, he blasted a powerful left-footed shot. This was from just outside the penalty box. He had six City defenders around him!
PSG’s Winning Streak
PSG has been on fire lately! They have not lost a game since they played Bayern Munich three months ago in the Champions League. Their match against Brest showed just how strong they are. It was totally one-sided.

Many players scored for PSG against Brest. Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored in the first half. Vitinha, Desiré Doué, Nuno Mendes, Ramos, and Senny Mayulu all scored in the second half! What a scoring fest!

Real Madrid, PSG, Dortmund, and PSV are through to the next stage! They join Bayern Munich, Benfica, Club Brugge, and Feyenoord. These eight teams are unseeded for the draw on Friday. They will play their first knockout games at home on March 4-5.
