Leaked GTA 6 Release Date Sparks Speculation

The much-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 is set for release on current-gen consoles in Fall 2025, though Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the exact date. While fans eagerly await official details, rumors and leaks continue to fuel speculation. A recent leak from a Uruguayan video game store, however, could have revealed the game’s potential release date.

A listing from the XUruguay store showed September 17, 2025, as the release date for GTA 6. This information, now deleted, matched the confirmed Fall 2025 launch window. A screenshot of the listing showed the PS5 disc for the game, along with the release date and a description. However, there was a notable mistake in the listing: it claimed the game would be a PS5 exclusive, even though it’s already confirmed to launch on both PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. This error raises questions about the accuracy of the leak.

Official Confirmation Still Pending

It’s important to remain cautious, as Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed any official details or a release date for GTA 6. The XUruguay listing has been deleted, with the link now leading to a “Page not Found” error. Additionally, this raises doubts about the authenticity of the release date shared in the leak.

Earlier in May 2024, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in a Fall 2025 release for GTA 6. Zelnick acknowledged the potential for delays but reiterated the company’s confidence in meeting this timeframe. Meanwhile, speculation continues, with some industry analysts predicting that GTA 6 could bring in over $1 billion from pre-orders alone before its official release.

Despite the uncertainty, GTA 6 remains one of the most highly anticipated games, and fans are eagerly awaiting any official confirmation from Rockstar.
