Apple Siri’s Brain Boost on Hold? Update May Arrive Later

Rahul JhaTech2 weeks ago9 Views

Exciting news, everyone! Apple is building a super smart Siri with Apple Intelligence. However, there’s a snag in the plan. It looks like the update might be a bit late. Why? Well, some engineering issues and pesky software bugs are causing headaches. Apparently, getting this new Siri ready for the next iOS 18.4 update is proving tricky, reports Mac Rumours.

Initially, news suggested a debut in iOS 18.4 for this smart Siri. And get this, the first test version (beta) is expected very soon, possibly next week! Yet, it seems this upgraded Siri needs a little more cooking time. Even though Apple promised Apple Intelligence in new languages this April – the same time iOS 18.4 should launch – the smarter assistant might not make it on time.

So, what does this all mean for users? Well, because of these hiccups, some of the cool new Siri features might not arrive until May. Mac Rumours suggests Apple might aim for the iOS 18.5 update to roll them out instead. Now, what exactly are these promised smarts? Apple highlighted three big improvements! Firstly, Siri’s getting personal context to understand you and your requests better. Secondly, it’ll jump between apps and do more things for you. And thirdly, Siri will even understand what you’re looking at on your screen to offer helpful support.

Want to know why the delay is happening? Apparently, folks at Apple testing this new Siri say it’s still a bit buggy and not working smoothly. This situation is actually quite unusual for Apple. Typically, big updates like this don’t get pushed so late in their usual schedule. However, Mac Rumours also mentions a possible backup plan from Apple. Apple might still launch the features inside iOS 18.4, but keep them hidden or turned off as default. This way, they could keep testing and fine-tuning things until iOS 18.5 becomes ready.

Think about it in simple terms. Even if the features arrive inactive in iOS 18.4, they’d still be part of the update, just not turned on right away for everyone. The very first test version of iOS 18.4 is expected to drop really soon. However, based on these reports, don’t expect to see the brand new Siri in that first beta release. It looks like we’ll have to wait just a little longer to experience Siri’s smarter brain in action.
