Amazing Student Balances It All!
Toxey, AL – Meet Regan Phillips, a super student at South Choctaw Academy! She is not just good at one thing, but four! Regan plays volleyball, basketball, and softball, plus she’s a cheerleader. On top of sports, she does clubs and helps out in her church and community too. Even with a packed schedule, Regan keeps a fantastic 3.9 GPA.
Time Management is Key
“I just have to be on top of things,” Regan explained. She makes sure assignments are done early and turned in on time. For Regan, getting ahead is the best strategy. She likes to finish tasks right away when they are given. This helps her stay organized.
Natural Leader On and Off the Field
Coaches notice Regan’s leadership skills everywhere. Her Volleyball and Basketball Coach, Whitley Robinson, says Regan is the glue holding the team together. “She’s calm and knows all the plays,” Robinson stated. Having Regan’s voice on the court makes a huge difference for the team.
Setting a Great Example
Softball Coach Cole Floyd agrees about Regan’s leadership. He describes her as leading by example. “When teammates make mistakes, she lifts them up,” Floyd mentioned. Regan keeps team morale high when they need it most.
Top Student in Every Way
Regan shines just as brightly in class as she does in sports. Teacher Nina Butler has seen many students in her 27 years of teaching. “Reagan is truly exceptional,” Butler says. She ranks Regan among the top five students who excel in everything – sports, academics, and leadership.
Always Ready to Help
Folks who know Regan will tell you she is a selfless leader. Coach Floyd also noted Regan’s willingness to help younger players. “She assists younger students with positions and skills,” Floyd shared. Regan is not just focused on herself or the varsity team.
Teacher Butler adds that Regan is always there to support others too. “When someone is down, Reagan is the first to offer encouragement,” Butler stated. She has a real gift for lifting people’s spirits.
“I want to be a good example,” Regan said. She hopes people feel comfortable coming to her for help. Regan is always ready to listen and support anyone who needs it.
Future Nurse in the Making
After graduation, Regan plans to go to Coastal Alabama Community College. She is excited to study nursing. With her drive and caring nature, she’s sure to succeed in her next chapter!
