Shweta Basu Prasad: Telugu Film Set Bullying Over Height

Actor Shweta Basu Prasad recently shared a tough time. She faced bullying while shooting a Telugu movie. This happened despite her long career in films. She opened up about this experience in a chat with Bollywood Bubble.

Height Shaming Experience

Shweta revealed the crew made fun of her height. Her co-actor was much taller than her. "The crew kept pointing out my short height," she said. "They compared me to the hero who was almost six feet tall." Shweta is 5’2". She felt annoyed by the constant mocking. Height is not something one can change, she explained.

Irony on Set

Interestingly, Shweta highlighted a contrast. She was teased for her height. However, her Telugu co-star had trouble delivering his lines. He needed many retakes. "Even I am not a Telugu speaker," Shweta mentioned. "But I managed my dialogues." She added no one criticized her co-star for his dialogue issues.

Telugu Film Journey

Shweta didn’t name the specific movie. She has been part of many Telugu films though. Her Telugu film journey began with Kotha Bangaru Lokam in 2008. After that, she acted in Ride, Kasko, and more. Her last Telugu project was Vijeta in 2016. Besides Telugu, she also works in Hindi and Tamil cinema.

Moving Forward Positively

Despite this bad experience, Shweta is still doing great work. She actively uses her Instagram. She shared a shoot update recently. It mentioned her Oslo shoot. "First shoot this year in Oslo," her note said. She admires Norwegian films. Shooting in Oslo, Norway is like a dream for her. She also praised her wonderful team.
