Gaurav Kapoor Weighs In on ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy: Jokes and Criticism Amid Ranveer Allahbadia’s Apology

Comedian Gaurav Kapoor recently shared his take on the ongoing India’s Got Latent controversy during one of his stand-up shows, humorously addressing the situation. Kapoor’s remarks come after a whirlwind of backlash surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on a now-deleted episode of the show. The comedian pointed out that Allahbadia’s quick apology only added fuel to the fire and joked about the entire mess.

Gaurav Kapoor: ‘It’s Not That Big of a Deal’

In his stand-up performance, Gaurav Kapoor lightheartedly dismissed the controversy, suggesting that it had been blown out of proportion. “Arre bhai kya bhasad hogai yaar. Itni badi bhasad toh hai bhi nahi yaar. Ho gaya yaar, nikal gaya mooh se yaar,” he quipped, implying that the situation wasn’t as serious as it seemed. Kapoor also mentioned that Allahbadia’s quick apology just hours after the controversy unfolded seemed hasty. “Ranveer apologised just two hours after the controversy came to light. I don’t apologise to my dad so quickly,” he joked.

Kapoor’s comedic style took a playful jab at Allahbadia’s actions, saying, “Mujhe gire pe laat marna accha nahi lagta par ek baar maar dete hain. Waise Ranveer jo bhai hain, 12 baje controversy hui, 2 baje apology dedi. 2 ghante mein? Itnijaldi toh main apne papa ko sorry nahi bolta (I don’t like to kick someone who has tripped, but let’s do it this once. Ranveer apologised in just two hours. I don’t even apologise to my dad that fast).”

Criticism of the Quick Apology

Kapoor also joked that Allahbadia should have taken more time before issuing his apology. “Wait a minute! Pay a lawyer and consult them first,” he said, suggesting that a more thought-out response might have avoided the chaos. Kapoor even humorously compared Allahbadia to someone who might have sided with the British during India’s independence struggle after receiving just one beating, poking fun at his fast reversal of stance.

The Backlash: Death Threats and FIRs

The controversy began when Allahbadia made a comment on the India’s Got Latent episode featuring Samay Raina and other panelists. The comment sparked a massive backlash, with Allahbadia and his team facing criticism from the public and media. As a result, Raina removed all related videos, and Allahbadia claimed that he and his family had received death threats.

The uproar even led to FIRs being filed in Maharashtra and Assam. The matter gained political traction when it reached Parliament, with members of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology raising concerns over the incident and calling for stricter actions to prevent similar occurrences.

NCW’s Intervention

In response to the controversy, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has called on Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and other panelists, including Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, to appear before the commission on February 17 in New Delhi. This official inquiry highlights the serious nature of the situation, with authorities looking to understand the full impact of the comments and ensure accountability.

What’s Next for Ranveer Allahbadia?

While the controversy continues to unfold, the attention on Ranveer Allahbadia shows no sign of waning. The comedian’s remarks offer a lighter take on the situation, but the reality remains that the controversy has caused significant repercussions. Will the backlash continue to affect Allahbadia’s career, or will the comedian-turned-influencer manage to move past it? Only time will tell.
