Chinese tech giant Oppo has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Oppo N5, alongside the new Oppo Watch X2. Both devices promise innovative features and cutting-edge technology aimed at enhancing the user experience.

Oppo N5: The Thinnest Foldable Yet

Oppo’s latest foldable phone, the N5, takes the spotlight as the thinnest device in its category. When closed, the N5 measures just 8.93mm in thickness and weighs around 229 grams, making it a sleek and lightweight option for foldable phone enthusiasts. This remarkable design doesn’t come at the expense of performance, as the N5 packs a punch with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.

The N5’s outer display is a 6.62-inch FHD+ screen, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,450 nits of peak brightness, ensuring a smooth and vibrant user interface. Meanwhile, the inner screen unfolds to an 8.12-inch display, offering a similar refresh rate and 2,100 nits of brightness, ideal for immersive experiences.

Photography: Hasselblad-Tuned Excellence

When it comes to cameras, the Oppo N5 doesn’t disappoint. The foldable device comes equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor, all of which have been fine-tuned by Hasselblad. The phone also features two 8MP cameras on the cover and inner screens, providing excellent photography capabilities for both casual and professional use.

Power and Charging: Long-lasting Performance

The Oppo N5 doesn’t just offer impressive specs; it also packs a 5,600mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. With this, users can enjoy hours of usage without worrying about constantly needing to plug in their device.

Oppo Watch X2: A Smart Companion for Your Health

Alongside the N5, Oppo also launched the Watch X2, a smartwatch packed with health-tracking features. The Watch X2 offers ECG monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, and a 60-second health checkup that measures heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and wrist temperature. This data can be easily synced to your phone via the OHealth app, allowing users to monitor their health at all times.

The Watch X2 is equipped with a 1.5-inch OLED display that reaches a peak brightness of 2,200 nits, ensuring great visibility even in bright sunlight. The watch also boasts durability with its Sapphire Crystal Glass protection and MIL-STD-810H certification, as well as IP68 and 5ATM water resistance.

For those who are into fitness, the Watch X2 comes in two variants: Lava Black, featuring a fluorine rubber band, and Summit Blue, which sports a leather band. The device runs on Wear OS by Google and RTOS, and is powered by the Snapdragon W5 and BES2800BP MCU chips. The Watch X2 promises up to 5 days of usage in Smart Mode and 16 days in Power Saver Mode, making it an excellent option for health-conscious users.

Global Launch and India Availability

These two devices were officially announced in Singapore, though their availability and pricing in India are yet to be confirmed. Oppo has yet to launch a foldable smartphone in India, but with the introduction of the N5, this could change in the near future. Oppo does offer flip phones in India, and it remains to be seen how the N5 will be received by Indian consumers.

Final Thoughts

The Oppo N5 and Watch X2 mark a significant step forward in Oppo’s push to create high-tech, premium devices. The N5 sets a new standard for foldable smartphones with its slim profile, powerful performance, and advanced camera features. Meanwhile, the Watch X2 combines health-tracking capabilities with a sleek design and impressive battery life.

These launches may spark interest in both foldable phones and smartwatches, offering a blend of cutting-edge technology and everyday convenience. The real test will come when these devices hit the Indian market—will Oppo’s innovation continue to shine?
