A recent survey reveals exciting insights into how golf clubs across the UK and Ireland are leveraging software technology. Commissioned by leading industry organizations, the research provides valuable national data on golf club software usage.
Led by organizations like the Golf Club Managers Association, The Golf Club Secretary, Scottish Golf Club Managers Association, UK Golf Federation, and Club Management Association of Ireland, this project surveyed 134 golf club managers.
Experts from Players 1st, specialists in golf surveys, collaborated with Golf Genius, a prominent software provider, to design the survey questions. Their aim? To uncover how clubs use technology and understand the strengths and weaknesses of existing software solutions.
“Our goal was to empower golf clubs with knowledge about the software landscape,” explained Morten Bisgaard, CEO of Players 1st. “The research highlights a strong desire to improve member experiences through operational efficiency, which relies on robust technology infrastructure.”
The research went beyond simply collecting data. It aimed to identify areas where software providers could better serve golf clubs. Key findings include average software implementation timelines, supplier willingness to enhance products, and overall value for money.
Craig Higgs, Managing Director at Golf Genius International, emphasized the importance of understanding club needs. “We wanted to know what clubs are currently using and their perspectives on the technology,” Higgs stated.
“Empowering golf club managers with information and ensuring they receive excellent service from providers was paramount. This collaborative research project delivers crucial insights to drive a more sustainable software supply environment.”
